Josh was born in Annapolis, MA though was raised in Denver, CO. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science from Idaho State University in 2016. At Idaho State University, Josh participated in Division 1 track and field as a collegiate Pole Vaulter and sprinter. He then attended Regis University in Denver, CO receiving his Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2020. He developed a passion in treating neurologic injuries and attended University of Utah’s Neurologic Physical Therapy Residency program with completion in May, 2021.
Following completion of the Neurologic Physical Therapy residency, Josh sat for the ABPTS NCS examination and became a Board Certified Clinical Specialist in Neurologic Physical Therapy in 2022. For the first 3.5 years of his career, he worked at the University of Utah’s outpatient neurologic clinic in Sugarhouse. He has been involved in co-leading the outpatient Neurologic support group and was an active volunteer in University of Utah’s TRAILS program, an adaptive sport program in Utah. Josh developed a passion for treating Traumatic Brain Injury and was the TBI team lead while at Sugarhouse.
Josh transitioned to treatment in the home/community setting with Rehab Without Walls, assisting patients in re-integrating into the community following Neurologic injury. Josh has had the fortune in his career to be exposed to a variety of complex neurological conditions and has worked in all settings throughout the continuum of care following a neurologic injury including Neuro-intensive care unit, Neuro acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, outpatient, and home/community setting.
His clinical aspirations are to increase access to quality care, improving patient knowledge in rehabilitation, and assisting patients in finding independence following a life-altering injury.
When not treating patients, Josh enjoys participating in marathon/ultra-marathon running events, traveling, and exploring all the beauty that Utah offers.
